Bolyar – “One typeface – Countless options.”

The idea of creating the original Bolyar Font came somewhere in late 2011 by Jordan Jelev (the Labelmaker) and drew inspiration from his countless wine label designs. He always wanted a typeface specially crafted to suit his package design needs. Jordan started working with leading type designer Vassil Kateliev on all-caps typeface, incorporating many of the characteristics of Roman Capitalis and Friz Quadrata. Couple of months intense works later, immediately after being released, Bolyar turned out to be a commercial success. Then, inspired and thrilled by its majestic look, we decided to design a spurred version accompanied by handful of beautiful ornaments – the Bolyar Ornate typeface.
