Our friends at The Phoenix– the excellent literary magazine at Townsend Harris High School in Flushing, Queens – just took home top honors at the Columbia Scholastic Press Association for their Spring 2016 issue!
To celebrate their accomplishment, we printed up a poster last week in the UDP studio.
For this project, we worked with 72 pt. Playbill all caps and our tray of oversized wood type:
Type was arranged and the layout tweaked on UDP’s flatbed press:
We mixed the ink and “brayered” the type by hand. Then we printed 40 copies:
